Statistics show that in the first quarter of 2022, China's lithium battery exports increased by 53.7% year on year, with a rapid growth rate.
In recent years, China's lithium battery exports have shown a high growth trend. According to the statistics of the China chemical and physical power industry association, China's lithium battery export volume and export amount have continued to increase since 2016. In 2021, China exported 3.428 billion lithium batteries, a year-on-year increase of 54.34%; The export volume of lithium batteries was the US $28.428 billion, a year-on-year increase of 78.34%.

On the demand side, since 2021, the global electric vehicle, electric two-wheeled vehicle, and energy storage market have shown a large-scale trend in varying degrees under the background of global energy transformation and upgrading and accelerated electrification. In particular, the demand for the electric vehicle market has increased explosively, which has also become one of the main factors driving the surge in demand for lithium batteries.
According to institutional data, the top five countries and regions in China's lithium battery exports in 2021 are 675 million, 648 million, 440 million, 337 million, and 222 million exported to Hong Kong, Vietnam, and India, the United States, and South Korea, respectively. In terms of export destinations, the number of exports to Asian countries and regions exceeds that of other countries and regions.

China's lithium battery exports continued to improve, showing both a steady growth in volume and a significant quality improvement, contributing to the stability of the global lithium battery industry chain and supply chain. With the increasing concentration of the lithium battery industry year by year, the market competitiveness of China's lithium battery head enterprises has been continuously enhanced.
Under the trend of international mainstream automobile enterprises and major countries accelerating in the field of electrification, it is expected that a new round of overseas demand for lithium batteries will further break out, which will also drive China's lithium battery manufacturing and export into a new growth cycle. China's lithium battery enterprises will more actively optimize the export product structure and participate in international competition.
